Action Movies-
Science Fiction Action films

Action movies are films where action sequences occur. Action movies will include fighting, car chases, fast editing, explosions, a hint of drama, a preceding complex plot, and a intrepid protagonist. Usually action movies work hand in hand with adventure and thriller films. The sub genre Sci-Fi action films, works closely with adventure film, due to the fact that the characters are always exploring a new world, dimensions, etc.
In the modern world, two types of action movies can be seen, but the majority of the films work with both. The first kind are movies consist of Asian martial arts, like kung-fu or karate. They are more commonly found in Asian based action films, but recently they could also be found in non-Asian action films. The second kind of action films are ones that lean towards the physical fighting, and things like explosions, guns, and a variety weapons.
In order to have a good action movie, components such as style, substance, and structure. In the style component the film requires precision, clear shots, and not too much editing. A great shot require "sweet, stylized shots of adrenaline, but they're grounded." The shots focus on the spatial relationship instead of physical relationship, which makes the shot better. The substance element of the movies are important because in order to make a great action film, it requires something like a story of revolution, redemption, vengeance, something with an important message. To further incorporate that the main character is usually unique, and carries a purpose. Last but not least, the structure element of the action film is important. In some film, the protagonist express more with their physicality, behavior, and expressions more than dialogue, which make the film more interesting Also, the action film is built around their set pieces, for ex, the location. The structure, "provides and excellent frame of reference for how to keep the story moving."


Solo- A Star Wars story ( 2018)is a perfect example of a Sci- Fi Action Film. The movie consists of a man named Hans Solo, who finds an adventure with helping smugglers steal something and taking it back to their territory. The movie consist of multiple action scenes, where the protagonist is fighting off the bad guys. The scenes are made off multiple fast paced edited two shot, mid shots. Throughout the movie, the editing is fast and quick, there is not much editing going on. The film takes place in the Star Wars world, which is a fantasy land. There are multiple scenes where explosions, and the use of guns is incorporated. Also, the main character, has a reason for his actions, and he is not the typical hero.

Inception-(2010)The movie is about guys who travel inside of dreams. Their main goal is to plant an idea inside of this mans head and they end up facing complications. The film is also consisted of multiple actions scenes. One of the most iconic scenes consists of a fight between two men, and the shots alternate between dutch angles. Through out the entire film, the audience is consistently on their toes, and the adrenaline pumping. The overall film includes multiple explosions, fight scenes, and the use of many weapons. The movie mostly takes place, in the dream world, which is why is falls into the sci fi action film category.

Hi,
My name is Reem Habbal, and I was born and raised in Damascus, Syria. I have 3 siblings, an older sister and a younger sister and brother. I do not have any pets due to the fact that half of my family is allergic to them. I would like to own a husky, but I am part of the half that is allergic. I spend the majority of my time working on homework. If I am not working on school related activities, I am either at the gym or expanding my library on horrible, yet entertaining films. My favorite films have to be Marvel movies, mainly because I grew up around the characters and development of the movies. I don't have a favorite movie, but the character that has always been the dearest to my heart is Spider-man.
The first thing people notice about me is my hair. I have long, brown curly hair that covers almost the entirety of my face. My hair is particularly similar to curly fries, which probably explains my constant state of hunger. I have nice, light blue eyes that struggle to shine through my glasses, that cover what my hair doesn't. I would like to consider myself an honest person. Lying isn't my strongest feature, in fact I am quite terrible at it. My goal everyday is to make people laugh. Listening to people's laughter is addicting, which is why I try and do it constantly. I appreciate delicious food, mostly medium cooked steak. I strive to be a healthy consumer, but I just enjoy pizza too much. Overall, I'm not the most interesting character, I am just an average teenage girl, that dreads waking up to school every morning, pursue ridiculous courses, and take pleasure in complaining about the simplest things.
Now that you know a little about me, the purpose of my blog is to give frequent updates on my final portfolio project. By the end of the year, I would like to look back at my blogs and see the transitions and the research conducted that created my final masterpiece.
